Pieter Morlion from MORE LION was asked by Fietsberaad Vlaanderen to take part in a one-week innovation sprint they organised jointly with IMEC (the Mobilidata programme). The goal is to further increase cycling as a means of transport to or from stations when commuting. The innovation sprint will have a prototype as an outcome to make large bike parkings (at train stations, for example) safer and more efficient and offer the cyclist peace of mind.
Pieter Morlion from MORE LION was interviewed by Yannick Verbesselt for Artikel 21 bis, a news platform ran by students journalism. Read the article here.
MORE LION was selected - together with part-time freelancer Suzanne Hoadley), by the SPI (agence de développement pour la province de Liège) to support them on setting up a mobility platform for the region. MORE LION will share their expertise on the matter, build a strategy together with the SPI, select an appropriate vendor to deliver the platform and overview the realisation.
We are happy to announce this first collaboration with a government in Wallonia! MORE LION was chosen by Oxfam Solidarity Belgium to organise an in-house course on project management and advise on project management processes within the organisation.
Practice what you preach. We do not have any company or other car, only own a bicycle, use public transport where possible and are part of two car-sharing systems (Dégage and Partago). We keep track of our professional kilometers driven and for 2019, we achieved the following modal split: Train: 8570 km or 82,5%
Bike: 1327 km or 12,8% Car: 491 km or 4,7% Pieter Morlion gave a presentation at the MOVE conference in London, where 5.000 mobility & innovation minded people attended presentations on a very broad range of subjects: from self-driving technology, over growing plants in supermarkets instead of transporting them, innovations in cycling, the first female taxi-driver in Ghana to how to the car-industry think they will survive.
MORE LION published two documents in the 'knowledge center' by Fietsberaad Vlaanderen: an analysis of existing practices regarding the identification of bicycles and cyslists at bike parkings and an analysis of what logic could be the best fit for our bike parkings in Belgium.
Pieter Morlion presented at the second 'Fietsparkeercongres' (Bike parking congress) by Fietsberaad Vlaanderen. The topic was an analysis of (best) practices for bicycle / cyclist identification and management of bike parkings. Slides can be found here.
